Google DeepMind’s new AI video generation technology overcomes existing limitations through audio integration and physics law implementation
Google announced on May 26 that it unveiled its next-generation AI video generation model ‘Flow Veo 3’ at Google I/O 2025 last month. This technology is characterized by its ability to create professional-level videos from simple text inputs.
Unlike existing AI video generation tools, Flow Veo 3 simultaneously generates video and audio while creating natural videos that apply real-world physics laws. It particularly provides lip-sync functionality where lip movements precisely match dialogue.
Perfect Integration of Audio and Video
The biggest feature of Flow Veo 3 is that it generates video and audio together from the start, departing from the conventional method of separately creating and combining them. This works harmoniously like an orchestra conductor coordinating multiple instruments.
Specifically, it supports real-time dialogue generation, automatic composition of background music matching scene atmosphere, and perfect harmony of multiple audio layers including dialogue, background music, and sound effects.
The Google DeepMind development team explained, “Flow is not simply a tool for making videos, but serves to transform creators’ imagination into reality.”
Realistic Video Production with Applied Physics Laws
Flow Veo 3 understands and applies real-world physics laws. It accurately implements natural falling motion according to gravity when a ball drops or water flow patterns. It also provides cinema-quality visuals with up to 1080p resolution and significantly improves the awkwardness or interruption phenomena that appeared in existing AI videos.
The overall consistency of videos is also excellent. Even when cameras move or viewpoints change, all scenes connect naturally, feeling like one complete world.
Simultaneous Release of Integrated Film Production Tool ‘Flow’
Google also unveiled the AI film production tool ‘Flow’ alongside Flow Veo 3. This tool is a comprehensive video production platform that integrates Veo, Imagen, and the language model Gemini.
Flow is designed to allow creators to precisely control every process of video production. It enables screenshot-based storyboard creation, professional camera work instructions including pan, zoom, tilt, and dolly movements, and real-time editing.
Particularly, it allows immediate modification of generated videos or length adjustment, and provides a smart asset management system where AI automatically classifies video materials and generates tags.
Expected Applications Across Various Fields Including Education and Marketing
Experts predict that Flow Veo 3 will be utilized not only in film production but also in various fields such as education, marketing, and advertising.
In the education field, it can enhance learning effects by creating vivid videos of complex scientific concepts or historical events. For example, abstract concepts like cell division processes or volcanic eruption principles can be implemented as actual videos.
Changes are also expected in the marketing field. As marketers can directly create advertising videos that previously required outsourcing to advertising production companies, personalized marketing and real-time content creation will become possible.
Small business owners are also expected to significantly reduce marketing cost burdens by being able to directly create professional promotional videos.
Currently Available Only in the US, Korean Launch Undetermined
Flow Veo 3 is currently provided as a beta service to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. In the United States, it can be accessed through the Gemini app, Flow tools, and the enterprise Vertex AI platform.
Ultra subscribers can access all features and extended usage limits, while Pro subscribers can use basic features with limitations.
The official service launch timing in South Korea has not yet been announced. Google stated that it plans to continuously update features based on user feedback.
Google advised that terms of service must be checked when using generated videos for commercial purposes.
